Litman Diaz Campos farm La Orquidea is named after Peru’s national flower, the orchid. The tiny farm is only two hectares big, and surrounded by virgin forest. Bright and clean fresh water springs run from the forest to the farm, reminding us of how nature can take care of us if we nurture it. This lot was grown at the upper plot of Litman’s land, a part of the farm that features not only coffee, but also diverse fauna and flora, including the namesake orchids.
In addition to his coffee, Litman also keeps livestock and bees, making the farm literally buzzing with life and immersive nature. Fermentation for this lot starts with 20 hours in cherry, before pulping. After that it undergoes another 16 hours of fermentation, before slowly drying for about 30 days. The result is sweet, bright and delicious.
