Our Favourite Espresso changes with the seasons and our mood. It's not a specific flavour profile but the coffee that we find the most exciting to have as espresso at the moment. Whichever coffee we use, you can always count on Our Favourite Espresso to be fresh, in season and with a clear sense of origin. Just the way we like it.

Producer Israel Degfa in Guji, Ethiopia.

Taste notes: Elegant and floral with notes of red currant and lemonade
500 or 1000 grams of whole beans roasted for a light to medium bodied espresso or a heavier filter brew.
We’re super excited to keep working with producer Israel Degfa and to once again feature his beautiful coffee. This lot comes from the washing station Adola - a word that in Oromo translates to ”Place of gold mining”, which suits this great coffee perfectly.
Israel owns several processing stations throughout Ethiopia and was a vocal part in redefining the country’s trading system. He puts in a lot of time and effort to increase the quality of the stations he operates, as well as now exporting his own coffee. He also supports several local social projects in the neighbouring areas, such as funding orphanages, building of schools and the education of the workers at his stations. This combination of forward-thinking, social awareness and high quality coffee are some of the many reasons we are so happy to present this coffee to you.
